Hot spot tape is great

Anti hotspot tape

Many thanks to all of you on polytunnel gardening for the advice. I’ve got a Hot Spot Tape Kit, now I can finish my tunnel off this evening. I am delighted with my First Tunnels polytunnel and am already looking forward to next year’s growing season. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone interested in a Polytunnel.

Hi there I’m just going through the process of spec’ing my first Polytunnel. I’ve seen lots of stuff about anti hot spot tape and the reasons that you need it. I’d like to know from someone using it what the benefits are please?

Hi PJ the tape is a must as far as I’m concerned. The tubes of the polytunnel can get very hot in the summer months and this damages the polythene. Personally I always use anti hot spot tape and have done so for several seasons with good results.

Hi everyone I too use anti hot spot tape on my polytunnel. But a word of warning in very hot weather even leaning things like hosepipes, growbags etc against the polythene can cause damage. So my top tip would be to always check that there is a gap between anything inside the tunnel and the cover.

Thanks for that little gem. Always worth knowing. Have you seen the windy tunnel video? I was amazed how strong they are?

PJ you’d be amazed, our polytunnel has stood happily against winds of 90mph plus and withstood temperatures of -20ºC!
