Anything…and everything! Today polytunnels are used to protect 80% of the soft fruit (tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries) sold through supermarkets. Polytunnels also protect onions, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, melons, lettuce, beans and flowers… to mention just a few!
A large percentage of championship flowers and vegetables have been grown under polythene too, partly because the growing season is greatly extended by the protection this offers.
If there’s a hose pipe ban, can I still use the overhead irrigation system inside my Polytunnel?
