Building a polytunnel can be quite a project, so good planning in advance is essential. A 12×25ft polytunnel can be constructed in a day by experienced people. But if you’re new to it, pencil in at least two days. However, in principle, it’s no more difficult than assembling flat-pack furniture.
You’ll need some basic equipment…Spade, tape measure, pegs and string for marking out, lump hammer, drill and metal bits. Also spanners – or even better a socket set – both Philips and flat headed screwdrivers, scissors or a Stanley knife, hammer and saw. Last but not least, a step ladder will also come in handy.
If you do have a problem, view our construction videos, showing how to assemble doors and hoops, sort foundations and, most importantly, fit the cover. You can also visit www.firsttunnels.co.uk where you’ll find comprehensive construction directions.
