The most important thing to do before you start to build your Polytunnel is to look at how other people have built them. Give yourself a good half hour to go online and check out the construction movies on this blog. You’ll find lots of step by step video instructions of what to do…and when.
With your research complete, take time to familiarise yourself with the instructions and particularly the parts and tools required. If you loose or damage your instructions don’t worry, construction guides available FREE online from suppliers like www.firsttunnels.co.uk

I’ll keep this simple… First Tunnels – Absolutely brilliant layout, so easy to use.
I have to say that at first I was rather daunted at the prospect of building my own polytunnel. Yeah I’ve done a bit of DIY in the past but never anything on this scale. So I took the advice of First Tunnels and spent time reading the detailed guide that came with the polytunnel itself. I then watched all the construction videos online which really helped me to get to grips with how it all works. And now I’m rather proud to say that with a little help from a couple of mates my polytunnel is up and running. Now I just need to decide what to put inside?
Attention to detail is very important when building your polytunnel. Make sure you don’t loose any of the small parts – as I did. Though thanks to the helpful people at First Tunnels this was quickly rectified.
I ordered a 14×30ft polytunnel from 1st Tunnels way back in April 09, but have only just completed the kit. Firstly I would like to say thank you. As I am extremely pleased with the purchase and the way the kit was despatched – it all went together as per the instructions they provided, something, which to be honest I didn’t expect. Now onto the my first season growing in a polytunnel.
This might sound like a daft question, but I’m gonna ask it anyway… Did it take you 9 months to build your polytunnel?
Hi greenshootz
No I was just very busy with work and the family. Once I put my mind to it, and roped in my Dad, we had it sorted in just over a day. The instructions were spot on, those First Tunnels people clearly know their onions (and tunnels).
