Storing Onions inside a polytunnel

Tie a knot in a pair of old washed tights just above each whole onion and repeat this process until both legs are full. When you need an onion, simply cut the tights just below the end knot.

trenching polythene

Constructed my polytunnel this weekend, wow it was hot. The trenching was harder work than I’d imagined, should have gone for the base rail option. Very pleased with the end result though – instructions from First Tunnels were spot on.

Summer BBQ

Wow what a weekend. After weeks and weeks of terrible weather the sun has finally come out and stayed out. And perfectly timed it was too as we had our annual summer BBQ down on the allotment

enjoying the fruits of our labour fresh from the BBQ along with some fine meaty sausages and burgers from the local butcher. Everyone contributed some crops and we enjoyed a very relaxed day pottering about the allotments, swapping stories, tips and advice and the odd glass of home brew along the way.

We even did some work – weeding, planting out and general tidying up. If who’d like to attend our events, please contact us through www.firsttunnels.co.uk or join our facebook group. www.Facebook.com/polytunnels
